On October 15, 2018, Zima’s Lightning had her first litter of four adorable girls.  Zarnitza means summer lightning in Russian, so she is called Lightning – an apt name for this frisky Samoyed.

Lightning was whelped on Prince Edward Island, Canada in the good hands of Margaret MacFadden, a friend for years.

Lightning is the great, great, granddaughter of Shalli, my foundation bitch.  One of Shalli’s boys went to  Vancouver, Canada where he became a champion in three shows.  His children were sprinkled through both coasts of Canada.

Dad is GChS Skilo Bear’s Making History and is called Brady.  They met in a parking lot as I brought Lightning to Helen and John Sullivan for breeding. Very polite.  Helen called me later

that day to say a first breeding had occurred so we were on our way.  Lightning stayed for a couple more days to make certain it was a good breed.

Lightning has a new sport – lure coursing.  Now that sight hounds permit any dog to enter, the sport has expanded. Lightning couldn’t believe that she got to run at full speed without a leash – and she recognized the lure as the target immediately.

After watching the puppies for eight weeks, on December 9, 2018, they went to their new families.

As we had such beautiful puppies with three breedings, another is planned for 2021 with the same sire and dam. Below right Lightning engaged in FCAT.
